Understand the syllabus and weightage of the topic –
The exam includes different topics and it is very important for students to know the subjects from their stream that are included in the exam. Missing out on any subject can cost students some valuable marks. Students need to take note of all the topics from each subject are included in the exam and prepare well for them.
Appropriate books are must –
One needs to choose appropriate books for preparation and read only one or 2 books for each subject. They need to give priority to reading from a book and then proceed to other resources. Jumping from one book to another is not going to work. You have to complete one book in a proper manner.
Follow the plan –
Students need to have a study plan and they should not get distracted. They must work towards achieving the targets before time if feasible. Before moving towards tougher subjects students need to start with the basics as a tree can only grow after its roots are strong enough to hold it.
Students need to make notes and revise their notes as many times as possible. To complete each topic efficiently they must practice as much as possible. Students need to clear their doubts immediately if they have any. They must identify their weakness and work towards strengthening them and should not proceed to other sections until and unless they have a strong grip on the previous section.
Revise –
Students need to revise the notes as soon as possible when it is important to revise weekly. The time taken for revision must decrease gradually if it doesn’t work that way then return to the topic and prepare it well. Students must practice the numerical and also understand the theoretical part.
Lastly, refrain from giving unsure answers to questions because even a single mark can badly affect your rank. As we all know there is negative marking present in NIMCET examination therefore you should mark only those questions you are sure that they are correct. If you are not sure about any question there occurs two problems – First is that it might be wrong and second is that your mind will think about that question throughout the exam that may be that question is wrong and you will loose your focus.
The big difference I feel is that most people just talk about developing strategies and keeping yourself calm and gaining confidence, speed, accuracy, etc. through a series of preparatory tests and self-evaluation.
